Fairfield Public Library Foundation

The Fairfield Public Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing, preserving, and strengthening the Fairfield Public Library as a cornerstone of the community. Guided by an independent board of local citizens who serve without compensation, the Foundation ensures that every gift is carefully stewarded and used solely for library purposes—supporting vibrant collections, investing in critical capital improvements, and providing the resources needed for the library to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing digital world. Through thoughtful philanthropy, the Foundation helps safeguard the library’s mission today while protecting its promise for future generations.

Community support is proudly reflected on the donor wall inside the library, where endowments of $500 or more are permanently recognized as a testament to shared ownership and lasting impact. Many donors choose to give modest amounts over time to the Library Endowment; when those cumulative gifts reach $500, they too are honored with a donor plate, demonstrating that sustained generosity is just as meaningful as a single major contribution. Gifts of any size or kind are welcome, including planned gifts. Individuals wishing to distribute funds from their estate after their passing can work with financial advisors—such as Edward Jones or Ameriprise—to include the Fairfield Public Library Foundation in their legacy planning. Donations may be made by visiting the Donate section under the Support Your Library tab, and checks may be made payable to the FPL Foundation.
